Artist's Statement
Painting is a way for me to relax, connect with nature, and document the many amazing things that I have encountered. I never thought painting would be my profession; rather it was a way for me to have fun, be outside, and try to share a little bit of the beauty that surrounds us. I have always been drawn to the mountains and love to camp and hike. Also, the ocean has always been a place for inspiration, and I love to swim, surf and sail. I have been inspired by the early California impressionists to paint nature up close, en plein air, exposed to all the elements. This way I get to combine my passion for art with the great outdoors.
